Welcome to a Taste of DRIFF 2025!

It is an honour and pleasure to host an event that promotes arts, culture, creativity, and community with the support of so many wonderful volunteers, sponsors, and partners. The Durham Region International Film Festival (DRIFF) has a fantastic line-up for our fall festival October from 23 to 25 at three great venues. We could not have a festival without the support of filmmakers around the world and in our own backyard and we are truly excited for this year’s festival.

On Day 1, after our Gala VIP Reception, join us opening night at 7:30 pm at the Centennial Building in Whitby for a short film followed by our premier feature film.

Day 2 will be held at the St Frances Centre in Ajax where you can indulge your tastebuds in our Local Culinary Showcase at a pre-screening party. While you are enjoying the food, learn about how SPFX is used during our Industry Panel. Then sit back and enjoy the evening’s short and feature film program and Director’s Q&A before we wrap up the evening.

Day 3 at the Biltmore Theatre starts with a free DRIFF special event, sponsored by the City of Oshawa where we engage the audience through an interactive SPFX workshop presented by CMU College of Makeup and Design. In the mid-afternoon/evening DRIFF carries on with ticketed program that includes a shorts and feature-length films, awards, and delicious reception-style food for all.
