2017 AWARD WINNERS
For the third year of DRIFF, submissions were opened to filmmakers all over the world to enter for chance to be selected as an official screening of the festival and win awards.

Eric Bizzarri is an energetic Toronto filmmaker, always looking to tell stories that dramatize his personal experiences. His most recent drama, The Shallow End, won Best Fiction and Best Editing at York University's Cinesiege 2016, Best Film at the Hamilton Film Festival, and was a semi-finalist at the Los Angeles Cinefest. With a passion to empower fellow young filmmakers, Eric Co-Founded and became the Artistic Director of the Future of Film Showcase. The festival is currently in its fourth year and holds the motto: "Carefully curated, unapologetically young, sincerely Canadian." The festival screens short films by Canadian filmmakers aged 30 and younger. This year, Eric Bizzarri graduated from York University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Film Production.
