Behind the Scenes: SPFX Interactive Workshop (FREE event)

Join CMU College of Makeup Art & Design at the Durham International Film Festival (DRIFF) for a FREE "Behind the Scenes" interactive special effects makeup workshop at the Biltmore Theatre!

Whether you’re a film enthusiast, an aspiring artist, or just curious about movie magic, this is your chance to see how special effects makeup brings characters to life. Led by CMU College instructor Katelyn O’Neil, the workshop will feature live, step-by-step demonstrations of four classic effects: zombie, cuts and bruises, burns, and frostbite.

After the demos, you'll have the opportunity to get in on the action! Talented CMU alumni Amanda Russell and Kat Guerin will be on hand to apply special effects makeup to members of the audience.
